I think this may be the reason the retract bid history is not showing anymore on my profile page ( I had a few within the past year).and it was in plenty of time (days) ahead of the "end" of the auction. At least you can give bad sellers negative feedback but you can’t neg bad buyers. If you're retracting a bid for a valid reason, you'll also need to make sure you do so within the bid retraction timeframe. Retracting a bid for any other reason is considered an invalid bid retraction. Soooooo many buyers never pay after committing to buy, so it goes both ways. You can only retract a bid if the seller significantly changed the description of the item, or if you accidentally bid the wrong amount. On top of it eBay tells me they cannot do anything about it. Also, I look at my store as any other large retail store which allows cancellations and returns. I posted today about a seller who cancelled a bid I won and reposted that exact same item again hoping to get a higher price. It makes better sense to me to retract a bid than to have somebody not ever pay.
I am a buyer (and seller) on here and I have no issue with bid retractions, or "buy it now" cancellations as long as I see they have retracted in the time allotted, and cancelled prior to shipping.
